Weld County Fair Greeley Colorado
It is one of the largest events held in Greeley and Weld County and is primarily for the educational benefit of youth organizations such as 4-H, Future farmers of America and the Boy and Girl Scout organizations It gives young people the opportunity to show their skills and to exhibit their animals. The areas of their expertise are demonstrated in agriculture, natural resources engineering, consumer and family, fine arts and horticulture. |
| Some of the major events are a draft
horse show and pull competition, car show, stick horse rodeo for the
little ones and a one day youth rodeo. There are also exhibits in
quilts, food preparation, vegetables and field crops and even a antique
truck display. One day their is a rocket fly day where the young
aeronautical engineers show there rockets off and one day for hot air
balloon launches if the weather holds. There are of course all of the animal competitions as the young people compete for prizes and ribbons. Every year the kids compete for best in show and the rewards that come with that coveted prize. Almost every animal is represented from small exotic rabbits, to sheep, cows and horses. Horse shows and events are also planned every year. There are roping events and horse shows of all types. The dogs also have their day with a dog show every year. On the final Saturday there is always the dance. So regardless of your age if you are visiting the Greeley Colorado area coma and enjoy the Weld County Fair. You can still experience our agricultural heritage up close and personel.
